Reunification Palace {Photo Tour}

Reunification Palace formerly known as the Presidential Palace or the Independent Hall.
April 30, 1975 marked the Fall of Saigon when a N. Vietnamese tank broke through the Palace gates.
The Palace Cinema
A Uhi Helicopter Model. Made in the U.S. A copy of the one President of the Republic of Vietnam Nyugen Van Thieu used on tours of inspection before 1975.


The room decor has remained the same since the day before Saigon fell. 


These tanks were used to break down the palace gates by the N. Vietnamese, thereby, ending the Vietnam War.  Tank 843 is a Russian made T54 tank while tank 390 is a Chinese made T59 tank.
Visitors are welcome to walk around by themselves or on a guided tour to see a number of rooms including but not limited to the conference room, recreation room, and receiving room. 
Before it was seized on April 30, this Mercedes belonged to the President of the Republic of Vietnam Nguyen Van Thien.
In the basement you’ll find the war rooms,  full of 1970s communication equipment.

Great photo tour - I feel like I've just taken the tour, too :-) It looks like careful planning has taken place to preserve this bit of history and place in Vietnam!
