Day 43

Friday July 16

This was Coney Island day- we walked the boardwalk, watched a sea lion "Oscar" show off during his show at the aquarium and ate one of the infamous hot dogs (I am not a huge hot dog person so I did not notice if it was necessarily the best or not).  It was so crowded and dirty we didn't feel like going swimming.  Coney Island is an amusement park on the beach and it's boardwalk is filled with fried food vendors.  There is not a salad in sight.  We did find a smoothie hut with very good smoothies. Piles of freshly cut mangos, papayas, strawberries, watermelons, etc. yum!

That night we went to see "Next To Normal".  This new musical has got to be the best show so far. I LOVED the entire score!  There are not too many musicals these days that you can say you watched the "original" cast perform and I did!  It was AMAZING! Sitting in the front row we experienced a roller coaster of emotions as the actors sang with such meaning it is hard not to get attached.
