Day 5- Let the work begin

June 10th

My first day at Fleishman and Hillard was great, long but great.

Meeting new places going through orientation and getting my desk was exciting. I am working with 19 other interns. Only one other intern is on my Healthcare team with me. His name is Matt. It looks like I will be able to foresee projects in Healthcare and Public Affairs both of which sound really interesting. Let me take that back all the teams are interesting. They all have their own projects to work on be in consumer marketing to security and or new business accounts.

After orientation all of us interns went to lunch together. It looked like a huge family dinner with all of us situated around a row of tables in the restaurant.

I met so many people today it was great! I even got to sit in on a brainstorming meeting with my three bosses I will be working with and got to do some research for them before I left. It was a great first day. A long first day because I did not make it home until 7:30pm but I am having fun. The Fleishman motto treats their interns as equals. My mentors ask me for my opinion on things while they bounce ideas off of each other. I feel this submersion in to PR is really the best way to learn.

Last thing for today, Fleishman has a softball team! Our game is next thursday. YAY! GO FH!
