Day 10
My second full weekend here in DC consisted of relaxation, good food and touring, of course!
Archita and I had the great fortune of being invited to Nancy and Dick's to enjoy Saturday and even spend the night. We went shopping with Nancy at Costco and Trader Joe's. We LOVE our Costco! The relaxing afternoon after a busy work week included laying on the couch, soaking in the AC and watching "Pride and Prejudice". Life is rough ;)I ate PF Changs for the first time and boy was that good. That evening we watched the "Great Debaters" it is a true-story about the first African American debate team from Wiley College in Texas to compete against a White college. It was directed by Denzel Washington and produced by Oprah Winfrey. I really enjoyed it, very inspirational!
9am was Sunday morning's wake up time. Well rested Archita and I headed back to town around 10:30am. We met up with her friend Caitlin and went swimming at a large pool at Caitlin's apartment. On such a sunny day I couldn't have imagined not spending it swimming at the pool. After we swam Archita and I headed back to her place.
We walked and toured around the wonderful Georgetown! Following Nancy's advice we found a bridge that crossed over a canal towards Washington Harbour. Taking pictures and enjoying the waterfront we walked along the boardwalk together. To finish off the day we ate at the "Tackle Box". For a reasonable dinner price I ate calamari, cole slaw and mashed potatoes. If every weekend turns out to be this nice I sure can't wait until next weekend!
